healthcare services

woman and medical staffOur professional care staff includes a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse and Certified Home Health Aides (HHA’s) committed to meeting the needs of residents with memory loss and other health issues.  Healthcare services beyond the basic package are available at additional fees as determined by residents’ individual needs.

Nursing professionals provide clinical services such as assessing a resident’s physical and cognitive health status; consultations with physicians on appropriate care needs; setup ordering and monitoring of medications; and ongoing communications with physicians, HHA’s and family members.

Working under the supervision of our professional nursing staff, our Home Health Aides are specifically trained in memory care and have passed required instructional courses to become certified.  Beyond the homecare regulatory guidelines, HHA’s receive additional training on an ongoing basis. Examples of services provided include help with dressing, bathing and grooming, toileting, administering medications, meal assistance, and escort services.  The Alton’s HHA’s provide response to residents’ care needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Alton is licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Class F Home Care Provider and is also registered as a Housing-with-Services/Assisted Living provider meeting the guidelines for specializing in Memory Care.
